About

I never know what to say when someone asks me to introduce myself. I can never describe myself in a nutshell. I am more than my job, although I spend most of my time working. I am more than my favorite hobbies of running, skiing, eating, drinking, singing and talking. My interests are varied and plenty. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a colleague, an acquaintance and a stranger. I am diabetic. I am a student of life. I am a lover of life.

I can go on and on. So I’ll stop right here.

PS What I wrote above is basically about me. Please also check my first post which explains what I intend this blog to be (or not be).

    Hello,
I am the feature writer for Diabetes Forecast Magazine, from the American Diabetes Association, and I am looking for tips and advice on dating, relationships, intimacy and sex from people living with diabetes. Everything from how and when do you reveal that you have diabetes to what do you do with devices during intimate moments.  I know this can be a sensitive topic, but I came across your blog, and wanted to reach out to see if you’d be willing to share your thoughts on any of these facets of relationships and diabetes.

If so, I’d love to set up a time to chat on the phone. Please let me know if you’d be willing.

    Hi Running Without Sugar,

My name is Kathleen Engel and I am an editor at Health Monitor Network in Montvale, NJ. My company publishes guides that are free to patients and distributed through doctors’ offices. Right now I am working on one of our diabetes guides and I would love to hear your story about how you manage your blood sugar.

I’d be happy to send you a PDF or two of our diabetes guides so you can see what they look like before deciding whether you’d like to participate. I’d just need an email address.

    Thanks for your consideration!
